Choose a laminating machine

Hot and cold fit
Hot fit is the most widely used form of fit. Depending on the material to be laminated, it is usually necessary to heat to a higher temperature. The hot lamination can provide better lamination performance, and the laminating products are more resistant to wear and cracking. The heat-fit method is suitable for materials that are not affected by heat.
The cold lamination is mainly a method of applying an external pressure so that the adhering membranes are bonded together by the pressure-sensitive adhesive. Cold lamination is mainly suitable for the fitting of heat-sensitive materials. For example, some ink-jet printers melt ink when heated, and others use thermal paper. In these cases, using a cold laminator is the best choice.

Adhesive materials

Bag fit material
The bag-shaped fit material only needs to put the material that needs to be packaged in, and then use a hot laminator to seal and bind the materials together. The size of the affixed bag is preferably matched with the material to be sealed so as to avoid the need for re-cutting after sealing. The thickness is mainly determined based on the requirements for the strength of the package. The surface of the affixed bag can be shiny or matt. The matt surface makes the image look more vivid, while the shiny surface is particularly suitable for bright colors.
Film sheet adhesive material
Membrane sheet materials available on the market also have different widths and thicknesses.
As with the bag-like material, the thicker the membrane, the better the strength and durability of the article after lamination. The use of film attachment can choose one or both side fit.
Reel type material
Roll-type laminating material is suitable for large-size lamination of products. Due to the large volume of one purchase, the material cost is lower. However, the requirements for equipment are higher and the equipment required is more complex.
Adhesion film structure
It is not enough to choose a suitable laminating material. It is also necessary to select a suitable laminating membrane structure according to different needs. Thermally attached films generally consist of two layers: a polyester base layer and an inner adhesive resin layer. The number of resin and adhesive layers used in thermal bonding is usually expressed as a ratio, such as 3/2 or 1/4. The first number represents the polyester portion and the second number represents the adhesive layer portion. When the ratio is larger, the attached product is harder. When the ratio is smaller, the resulting product is more firmly bonded. When the material to be laminated is thick, such as the back of a photosensitive film or a hard plastic, a high adhesive strength is required.
